Our Venue and Things to Know

We've chosen the Pelindaba Lavender fields to celebrate our marriage. Pelindaba is a special place for us. For Rick's birthday a few years ago we spent a weekend to the San Juan Islands. We fell in love with it's beauty during a 30 mile bike ride around the island. In the final five mile stretch of the ride, we saw a sign for a lavender farm and decided to check it out. We were blown away by the peacefullness of the property, even with people walking through the fields. We tried the lavender and vanilla ice cream and sat for a while to enjoy the day. In searching for venues, we went through dozens of options, trying to find the one that felt the most "us" and finally decided to go back to the farm for our event.

The farm is beautiful, but there are a few things you should know if you are going to join us on our wedding day. It is a grass meadow, so heels may not be the best footwear. Wedges, flats or stacked heels would be fine, but nothing that will sink into grass.

Also, the venue can be windy, so a light jacket or scarf is recommended to stay warm in the shade when the sun isn't shining.

Finally, we are providing transportation from downtown Friday Harbor to the venue, so you won't need to drive. However, there is plenty of parking at the farm, so if you choose to drive, there will be parking available.

The address for Pelindaba is 45 Hawthorne Ln, Friday Harbor, WA 98250.
